As a martial arts school owner, has the holiday season ever caused you to feel stressed in your business instead of feeling joyful? Strategy number 1: “New Year, New Enrollments”

The first thing that you need to do is understand people’s “new year’s mentality” and expect them to want to make changes in their daily routines. This can be great for you because of new enrollments, but it can also backfire if your students decide to quit and pursue a new hobby. To maximize new enrollments, increase referrals, and avoid losing students, here is what you need to do right now:

Action Step: Call each student on the phone in the month of December, no later than the 10th! Thank them for being a valued member of your school and remind them of how great they are doing! Be sure to let them know how excited you are for them to achieve their next rank! If the student is a child, speak directly with their parent, and talk about the incredible improvements you are seeing each week! Lastly, ask if there is anything you can do to improve your service and remind people about your referral program! (This is a must do action step for your martial arts students and your after school program students.)

Strategy number 2: “Summer Camp Success in December!”

You are probably wondering why I am talking about summer camp during the month of December. Well, it’s simple… Parents across the country are already PURCHASING summer memberships that you can easily offer in your next holiday sale for $1,000 – $2,000 per child! (Many of our MAST coaching members already made more 10k in summer camp sales on Black Friday! Imagine how an extra 10k would help you this month!)

Action Step: You need to offer a special “paid in full discount” to a limited number of customers during your next holiday sale! Martial arts schools that offer camp during the entire summer Monday thru Friday from approximately 7:30am – 6pm will attract a ton of new enrollments! The BEST part is that many of these families also need an after school program! This means that their yearly value will grow as you can easily charge $250 to $400 (or more) per month for after school care as well!

Strategy number 3: “Year Round Income from your After School Program!”

Let’s face it… Martial Arts is a luxury purchase, whereas an After School Program is a necessity purchase for working families. Kids need a top quality place to go for after school care and your martial arts school is the perfect place! (The BEST part is that parents already have a budget to spend with you!)

Although there are several things you will need to do to get started, here’s an action step that will allow you to start enrolling kids now!

Action Step: Offer 3 simple After School Program membership options to the families in your community!

  • VIP Membership: Customer makes one single payment and receives a 10% discount.
  • Entire School Year Membership: Customer enrolls for the school year and makes weekly tuition payments every Monday. (Most popular)
  • Monthly membership: Customer enrolls on a month to month basis and tuition for the entire month is due on the 1st of each month.
